Sparrow & Co. Cares is a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and restoring hope, one child at a time.
Our mission is to partner with organizations serving children in foster care and donate One Day at a Time books to be included in First Night Bags, Back-to-School Bags, and Gift Bags for children experiencing the difficult transition and uncertainties of foster care.
Through these partnerships, we strive to help every child feel seen, safe, and loved.
Together, we can bring hope, one day at a time.
Why Books Matter to Children in Foster Care:
Many children in foster care lack access to books and reading routines, putting them at greater risk of falling behind, not from lack of ability, but because of instability and trauma. Books can be tools for healing, connection, and growth. When a child is read to, something powerful happens:
Language and literacy skills grow
Bonds are formed, even during hard transitions
Imagination is sparked
Hope and healing begin
